TREASURES IN MY GARDEN....a few of my friends

While walking through the garden this morning,
I decided to run back and get the camera to capture a few pics of my friends and their little worlds.
Time becomes irrelevant once my feet hit the grass and I literally get lost
in His ever so cleverly creative world.
Each flower, insect, bird,etc... is so uniquely and beautifully made.
I can almost here them all singing praises to their maker!!!

The zinnias bursting out from the ground to provide a magnificent pink ruffly pillow
for the butterflies to  perch and engulf their sweet needs.

The colors are countless as they dance around the garden
creating a work of art that is fleeting and temporary and treasured.
Each second is original.  Each minute is filled with creation.
Each hour paints a portrait of the One who created all that is within my little garden.
He gives me a taste of Him each time I visit.

This little guy is a regular at the "Bouquet Diner" on the southern side of our house.
He has his own table and likes to show off his importance by running off a lot of the other guest and helping himself to the entire buffet... all day!!!

He also has some bad table manners....
He's sticking his tongue out at me as I try to take his picture.
He's obviously migrating from the North and does not respect the hospitality of us Southerners!!

And sweet little Cow...
I know she's a cat but we thought it appropriate since she looks like a Dairy cow.
We have no boundaries over here ...
You call em like you see em!!!
Our kids might need a little therapy later but they'll be OK!!!

Now what is it like to be a grasshopper!!!
His furniture is to die for.
Can you imagine trying to decide on which color to sit on that day.....
and oh yeah.... you can eat the couch!!!
How cool is that?

And check out this little Bumble Bee...
Pigging Out!!!
Check out how much food he already has stuffed in his 'pockets'.
He's embarrassing himself...
Oh... I forgot!!! There's no such thing as embarrassment in their world.
How wonderful!!!

FYI:
Did you know that when bees get together in the morning...
they decide on which flower to get their food from for the day?
They all leave with only one flower on the brain and do not touch another variety
until maybe another day.
Cross Pollination at its best...
Now I wonder who could have orchestrated that?
HMMMM
(with a missing I)

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

THE FROG MINISTERS TO MY PRINCESS

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life
set me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1-2

Does anybody miss middle school?  I really don't think anyone would mind if we just cut that part out of our lives.  My daughter came home from 'middle school' yesterday a little lower in spirit.  After playing a game of questions... she finally confessed that a little boy in her class walked up to her and said...
"You know....Nobody likes you"
.... and walked away!!!
Now... she is my confidant one who usually brushes offenses off like flies and is usually not affected by something like this.  But for some reason this one hit deeper than the rest.  As a mom, you feel like clobbering the little fellow.  But thankfully... I am studying the book of Romans who ever so gently whispered into my ears a better way to react.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs -
heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in his sufferings
in order that we may also share in his glory.
Romans 8-16-17

After my first blog... yesterday...Frog with a Big Heart...  the frog really stuck with me.  So.... maybe it would minister to my little princess as well. She read it and I asked her how it related to her life.
She quickly stated:
"______  is the frog.... and I think I must be the heart.
He must have something on the inside that I can't see that is better than his outside. "

YES!!!  That's it.  You see after further investigation of this little frog who still hasn't grown out of his tadpole tail... we found that possibly his home situation may have caused a few cracks in his little heart. As a result, he probably feels like the world is a little unsafe and his natural instinct is to hurt the hearts of those around him.  It's so much easier to forgive someone when God shares their hurts with you.  We are also very much aware that our home has its own hidden cracks for which we are seeking by faith the heart of God to rest in. With hopes of walking in freedom day by day.  Middle school will definately be a time of surfacing the tiny cracks in our lives.  Maybe middle school is also the place to share in many sufferings as Jesus did for us where she can be a heart of refuge for those little frogs seeking His love.  We both prayed before school that he would come to know Hannah's heart and the heart of God and that his hurt would turn to happiness.
God is so good to point out
the little tiny moments in our life
(aka... a tiny frog resting on our wooden heart)
and make them minister to the big obstacles
(aka Middle School)!!!!
May we all enter the garden gate and find all of the hidden treasures within!!!

FROG WITH A BIG HEART

"Time's fun when you're having flies."
--Kermit the Frog

Look who came to visit us today.  Tucked away into his tiny little world and nestled in the bosom of a giant heart, this little frog found refuge from his cold cruel world (aka... 3 hungry cats).  One can clearly see... despite his gray slimy exterior... he clearly has a huge heart.  At least that's the reputation he has been tagged with around here.   There is a great artist based out of Breaux Bridge (Kelly Guidry) who makes these fabulous heart sculptures out of wood.  One day at Festival of Acadians, a large heavy heart called me out of the crowd and coaxed me into coaxing my husband to adopt it and bring it home with us.   This giant red heart now hangs from an iron hook with a tiny little crack running through it.  How wonderful to find a piece of art that perfectly reflects your own imaginative world.  We hung it on the garden gate to welcome anyone who wishes to enter its hidden world... A heart to remind us of the Love of the One who created you... The wood to reflect the humility that we need to escape the world and enter a hidden world of treasures....The color red to remind us of the Blood shed for all of our disappointing moments in life ... A tiny crack to remind us of the little cracks that sometimes show up to reveal our weaknesses.  And last but not least... the frog... let us not forget.... the ones that may not be all that appealing on the outside usually contain  an extra-large, super-sized super-grande heart full of love to give.  May I try to remember this when my teens try to convince me that their hearts are not as big as I know they are.  May I remember that no matter how cold and slimy something appears... they too need a place of refuge... and may I always point them to the bosom of the One who loves them!!!!  Who's the frog in your life today?
Hope you have a great day.... and many many blessings from above!
