BREAKFAST AT KIMBERLY'S...

Does it get any better than this...
A classic woman
singing a classic song
making a classic movie.
All in One!

I hum this tune almost every time
I see the Moonvine
that creeps over our bell tower.

Wondering what its moonlit night was like.
The large white saucers clinging to their vine
uniquely live from dusk til dawn.
Then they grow old and pass on...
to the big bright light in the sky.

Huge white plates
a blooming feast
for those who taste.
Shining for its friend up high
reflecting what it sees then dies.

There aren't too many interpretations
of the lyrics of Moon River.
But I think it's a love song between
my moonflowers and their moon friend.

Kind of like David's love song
to his friend without sin.
Kind of like His kids longing
for the Maker of men.

Imagine if you were a moonflower
and the moon was your maker
and you only had 12 hours to live your life
mostly in the darkest hours of the day...

Would you shine?

Would you brighten the night
with what little time you had?

Would you sing for Him?

Would you bloom to your fullest?

Here's a little snippet in time
of the life of my Moon Flower
and its love song to their Moon friend...

Moon River, wider than a mile,

I'm crossing you in style some day.

Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,

wherever you're going I'm going your way.

Two drifters off to see the world.

There's such a lot of world to see.

We're after the same rainbow's end--

waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,

Moon River and me.

And we,
who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory,
are being transformed into his likeness
with ever-increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18

May we all shine brightly today
and bloom to our fullest potential
to reflect the One who gave us this day.
